USPS Shipping Gripe !!

If I hear one more time the USPS say they're loosing money because of emails, I'll scream !! They've been using that same old lame excuse for about 15 years now ( raising stamp costs 2 cent here, 2 cents there, which don't forget raises sending package about .50 an oz ). With all the packages now sent through the USPS from online sales, they're making gazillions more than with any letters ever sent.

Take just me as an example, I never sent letters, just Christmas and greeting cards, which I still send today, ( maybe even a bit more than before ), but now with my online ebay sales and what I buy online (Amazon, Eddie Bauer, JC Penny.. and on, and, on ), I alone generate between $300 & $400 a MONTH, in shipping costs.
There are well over a million items sold on ebay in a single WEEK with an average shipping cost of $4.50 to $8.50 per ( sometime way more, but seldom less ), and 95% are sent through the USPS ( and the same 95% of all items I buy on other sites come through USPS )

Yes I'll admit some small post offices should be closed, but they can also stop spending insane amounts on advertising their flat rate boxes, not a day goes by when I don't see at least 5 Commercials ( at about $200,000.00 a pop ), why would they be drilling this in, if they weren't making money.

Before any money is doled out to "Save Them" they need to be thoroughly investigated and or audited.

Thanks Laurie

~~ Finally I would like to send a BIG Thank You Shout Out to my cyber crafting friend Laurie ( Indulge Your Self ), she sent me this adorable pillow she made from all vintage linen pieces, what a doll face... I Love it !

Well I guess that's it for now, again I will be listing tons of delightful, enchanting, adorable, beautiful, & fun vintage items, starting this week, come take a peek, it's "Like a Box of Chocolate" "Ya never Know what You Might Find"

Decorating Odds & Ends

~~ A few other odds & ends, are the vintage button & chenille top piece for a shabby repo tin, a paper cover for the top of a small vintage tin, then a bit of red ball trim to a table candle and a pink bow for the pink ceramic swan and I'm ready for Valentine's day.

Saved Treasure

~♥~ I also reclaimed a treasure, an antique shell basket wall plaque. I was disappointed when I got it home, after I found that the main shell had been broken and glued, ( years ago ) and one flower center shell was missing, so I added a piece of vintage trim, a vintage satin bow ( a save every little thing, just for these play day occasions ) and, an odd shell ( didn't have an exact match ).

It's not good enough to list, so darn I just I'll have to keep it...
I believe it's Edwardian..

Winter Play Days

Hello all remember me ??? been a while, well Christmas is over ( sing Hallelujah ) and between sorting through my past estate season finds getting ready to start listing again on eBay, full on, I've also made a few crafting treasures.

~♥~ First is a darling little Easter basket, made from a vintage flared milk bottle cap,

I added a bit of tatted trim to the edge, a curled old wire handle, made a few tiny Easter eggs, out of Paper Clay ( Thanks Laurie ).

Then for the grass I used a small piece of llama fur ( not my first pick, but gotta use what ya have handy ), I sprayed on a bit of water downed pink paint then sprinkled with mica.

And to finish it off I added the adorable tiny ceramic bunny, I'm delighted with the way it turned out..

Vintage Garden Estate Treasures

Hello & Welcome to my ~♥~ My Blog ~♥~

Here's a little bit about me... I am now semi retired and sell on eBay, I have always loved old vintage things and have been collecting a few treasures myself for about 20 years, no one thing mind you just a little bit of everything, with textiles being my all time favorite.

I had also worked in thrift stores on and off for about 15 years and learned a lot, from knowledgeable coworkers and dealers who always frequented those stores. Now I head out every weekend to hit the estate sales and a few garage/yard sales looking for fabulous, charming, delightful, super terrific hidden treasures to offer up for bids.

I will be posting what I feel is my find of the week, so if you happen to find me or that item through a search, you will be able to, go to eBay and place a bid, if it's still active.

Now on a more personal note :

My husband & I have settled in the beautiful state of Washington and have etched out a little bit of heaven for us both, our two dogs silly Dilly, and Skippy ( also know as Skippy Doo ), then there's our old barn cat Mrs. Potter ( she use to live in our potting shed but moved "behind the fence" and into the barn ), and we also have four wonderful donkeys, Lilbit, Mamacita, Pansy and our big fella Sneaky Pete.

And as you've probably already guessed I also do a bit of gardening ( vegetables and flowers ), but my husband says I need to change my ID, cuz since I started selling on ebay, I don't do much weed pulling anymore..
